Solucient Top Cardiovascular Hospitals

Penn Presbyterian is a Top 100 Cardiovascular Hospital for 5th Year in a Row

Penn Cardiac Care at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center is committed to providing the highest quality cardiovascular health care to the Philadelphia and South Jersey region, and to contributing to the field of cardiovascular medicine through education and research.

Penn Presbyterian has long been associated with advances in the field of cardiology and cardiac surgery. The hospital opened one of the first coronary care units in the country, and in 1992, established the first outpatient heart facility on the East Coast dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. Most recently, Penn Cardiac Care at Penn Presbyterian became the first hospital in the region to use video assisted technology in cardiac surgery.

Specialists of Penn Cardiac Care with expertise in every necessary discipline are focused on each patient. Our cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons work closely with sub-specialists in the most current cardiac diagnostic and imaging techniques. Long known for their role in taking imaging technologies to new heights, our specialists were instrumental in the development of echocardiography, cardiac angiography, electrophysiologic mapping, ultrafast CT scanning, SPECT imaging and cardiac MRI.

Folded into this multidisciplinary approach are endocrinologists, nephrologists, neurologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, pulmonologists, oncologists, pathologists, dietitians, and experts in rehabilitation medicine and mental health....all working with the most advanced resources and technology for patients needing heart treatment.

Penn Cardiac Care Physicians are Nationally Recognized for Quality
Best Doctors in America (2005-2006) lists more cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons from the University of Pennsylvania Health System than any other Delaware Valley hospital or medical center.

Penn Presbyterian Medical Center was recognized by the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council's Hospital Performance Report for having significantly lower than expected mortality rates for heart attack and vascular disorders.

Penn Cardiac Care offers drug-eluting stents, the latest technology available to reduce blockages in arteries.
