About Our Team
Our board-certified endocrinologists are part
of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
and work as a team with our nurse educators and
nutritionists. Because
our center is dedicated to treating diabetes, all of our patients are required
to have a primary care provider for their non-diabetic needs. Our medical staff
maintains contact with our patient's primary care provider
to coordinate diabetes care.

Our endocrinologists care for patients using
the expertise and input of their fellow team
members. As part of a major clinical and research
institution of the University of the Pennsylvania
Health System, we also consult with other specialists,
when necessary, such as ophthalmologists, vascular
surgeons, nephrologists and cardiologists.
Our
on-site clinical team members include:
Diabetes Nurse Educators
Our certified nurse educators provide
our patients ongoing education on the treatment
and management of diabetes. We offer a ten-hour
education course recognized by the American
Diabetes Association as meeting the National
Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education.
We offer group and individual programs covering
topics such as nutrition, medications, exercise,
glucose monitoring, coping and prevention
of complications.
