Sulcus Vocalis
Sulcus vocalis is caused by a loss of vocal cord
tissue. Symptoms include a hoarse or raspy voice
and vocal fatigue. Treatment options include:
- Vocal cord
injections are used to increase the size
of the weakened vocal cords. The procedure -
which can be completed in the doctor's office
- injects a substance into the voice box to
strengthen the weakened vocal cords.
- Thyroplasty
is surgery that strengthens the voice by inserting
an implant in to the voice box.
