Camp Erin Philadelphia: A Camp for Grieving Children

Camp Erin is a weekend overnight camp for children who have lost someone in their life. The camp combines traditional, fun, high-energy activities with grief education and support to help campers remember a loved one, develop grief skills and enjoy a positive camp experience.

Staffed by licensed social workers and trained community volunteers, Camp Erin offers activities like arts and crafts, ropes course, "ga ga" ball, camp fires, music, swimming, and other activities. In addition, campers participate in grief workshops throughout the weekend.

Camp Erin Philadelphia, developed in partnership with The Moyer Foundation and Diamond Ridge Camps, is named after Erin Metcalf, a remarkable young woman who died of liver cancer at the age of 17. Acknowledging her love of children and her desire to help others, Jamie and Karen Moyer of The Moyer Foundation founded this grief camp for children as a tribute to Erin.

Camp Erin is open to children in the Philadelphia area, ages 6-17, who have lost someone in their life due to a death.
