Discharge Information
Patients are typically discharged at 10 am.
Please let your nurse know if an exception
needs to be made for you. Discharge
times for mothers/babies are based on the
time of delivery. Your doctor and your
nurse provide you instructions about post-hospital
care.
If you have questions about
your diet, activities or other matters,
please ask your nurse. Your entire care
team is here to support your transition
out of the hospital.
Parking on the Day of Discharge
The day of discharge, please park in the
Penn Tower Garage (self park or valet).
A Penn Tower parking voucher (good for
the day of discharge) is provided to all
patients discharged before 10 am. Vouchers
are available from the patient transporter
who accompanies you when you leave
the hospital.
Personal Items
Please re-check your room to make sure
you have all valuables and personal items.
Homeward Bound Lounge
The Homeward Bound Lounge is a comfortable waiting area for patients
who have been discharged from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
and are waiting for a ride home. The lounge is located in Penn Tower,
across the street from the hospital.
