ABOUT PENN HOME CARE & HOSPICE SERVICES

Penn Home Care & Hospice Services brings exceptional care home to patients and their families. With a wonderful blend of passion for their work and compassion for their patients, the professionals who work within the Penn Home Care & Hospice Services enjoy a culture that is focused on patient care offering skilled nursing care, infusion therapy, pain management services, and a multidisciplinary approach with rehabilitation therapy and social services (Allied Health). Our Corporate Services provides direction for our three distinct service programs.

Penn Care at Home is a premiere provider of quality, compassionate and innovative nursing services in the home. This care allows patients to recover at home from a variety of diagnoses, including congestive heart failure, orthopaedic surgery, diabetes, stroke, cancer, and respiratory illness. Physical, occupational and speech therapies as well as social work services are available to assist with patient recovery.

Penn Home Infusion Therapy nurses provide infusion care for patients in Philadelphia, its five surrounding counties and New Jersey. Penn Home Infusion Therapy offers the most recent oncology patient care standards, including pain and symptom management; new protocols for cardiology; as well as antibiotic, anticoagulant, hydration, and total parenteral (TPN) therapies.

Wissahickon Hospice is one of the oldest and largest hospice programs in the Philadelphia region, and was the first Medicare certified hospice in Pennsylvania. Using a team approach, this program provides pain management and care for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses such as cancer, end-stage heart disease, end-stage dementia, and other terminal illnesses.

Coming Soon in 2008! Penn's Inpatient Hospice Unit will be located in Center City, Philadelphia (at the site of the former Graduate Hospital).
