Nurses who work within the University of Pennsylvania
Health System are a remarkable combination of
scientific knowledge and compassion. They are vital
members of interdisciplinary teams, and above all,
patient advocates who make a critical difference.
We
believe that our nurses are helping to lead our
efforts to be the best in every facet of patient
care. They are imperative to our vision for our university-based
health system — to continuously develop an environment
of learning, training and caring where the quest for knowledge generates the
most effective and compassionate care for every patient.
UPHS nurses are knowledgeable and they rely on the
latest technology along with the career long
learning. That's why we are committed to advancing
the nursing profession through extensive opportunities
for learning that include mentoring, advanced education
and our Clinical
Advancement Recognition Program (CARP).
What makes our health system such a fulfilling place
to build a nursing career is discovering that
each entity and every individual unit speaks the common
language: patient care, learning and research.
Many of our best practices were the concepts of our
nursing staff. Collaborating together, the changes
they make are realized by everyone within our entities – from
the clinician to the patient. At the University
of Pennsylvania Health System, our nurses motivate
progress.
Our nurses find a wealth of opportunity in the UPHS
member hospitals, home care and hospice, as well
as outpatient facilities listed below:
Each of these entities offers environments where
nurses are respected, cared for and valued. They
are involved in the decisions and developing
policy concerning their practice environment
and enjoy outstanding benefits including
100% prepaid tuition.
