Is Your Life on Overload?

So often women are the ones who shoulder work worries, with the added concerns of household problems, rearing children and/or caring for elderly parents. The result? A headache, insomnia, eating binges, loss of appetite, stomach pain, fatigue, restlessness or difficulty concentrating. What should we do? Make time for ourselves. An hour in the bathtub, a cup of tea and a good book, a long walk - just do whatever it is you enjoy.

If you think your life is on overload, follow these steps to strike a better balance.

  • Recognize the problem.
  • Stop and take an inventory of your life.
  • Prioritize.
  • Learn when to say no.
  • Talk to a health care professional if you think you are suffering from depression, anxiety or other unexplained feelings.
