Penn Hand Service
The Penn Hand Service provides comprehensive,
expert diagnosis, and treatment of the hand, wrist
and elbow. Penn Hand Service specialists evaluate,
diagnose and treat:
- trauma injuries
- fractures
- arthritis
- tendinitis
- congenital anomalies
- joint derangements
- work-related injuries
- sports-related injuries
- nerve problems, such as carpal tunnel syndrome
The Penn Hand Service has received grants from
the National Institutes of Health and the Orthopaedic
Research and Education Foundation to research
groundbreaking technology in the treatment of
hand, wrist and elbow disorders and traumas.
The Penn Hand Center responds to major traumas
of the hand and upper extremity. For the hand,
wrist and elbow, the team performs:
- microvascular surgery
- arthroscopic surgery
- reconstructive surgery
In addition to aggressive treatment and state-of-the-art
surgical interventions, a dedicated team of occupational
therapists who specialize in hand, wrist and elbow
rehabilitation provide comprehensive care and
return to function for Penn Hand Service patients.
