Penn Pain Medicine
The Penn Pain Medicine programs are part of Penn Comprehensive Neuroscience Center. We provide integrated, interdisciplinary pain care to individuals experiencing pain. Care is provided to inpatients through the Anesthesia Pain Service and the Palliative Care Service (SYMPAC) at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, consultative pain care is provided to inpatients at Penn Presbyterian Hospital through the Anesthesia Pain Service. Outpatient pain care is provided by members of the SYMPAC team at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania campus and the Penn Pain Medicine Center. Finally, outpatient chronic pain care is provided at the Penn Pain Medicine Center.
Our programs strive to provide cutting-edge care to the patients we serve. In addition, we are educating next-generation health care providers in pain medicine. We also strive to improve care to patients with pain through clinical research.
Our goal is simple: Provide the best care we can, teach others how to care for people with pain, and do our part to conduct research to improve care to our future patients. However, we cannot do this alone. Much of our efforts in clinical care, education and research are possible through the support of others. You can be a part of improving pain care.
