Public Transportation
Penn Presbyterian Medical Center is convenient to
reach by several public transportation routes:
- The SEPTA Market/Frankford Blue Line (the
elevated train/subway stops one block away
from Penn Presbyterian Medical Center at 40th and
Market Streets.
- SEPTA bus routes 30 and 40 stop at 40th and
Market streets, within one block of Presbyterian
Medical Center.
- Two other SEPTA bus routes stop within a
few blocks of Penn Presbyterian Medical Center
- The westbound 21 stops at 40th and Walnut
streets
- The eastbound 21 stops at 40th and Chestnut
streets
- The 42 stops at 40th and Spruce Streets
- All SEPTA Regional Rail Lines stop at 30th
Street Station. From there, take the Market-Frankfort
Blue Line west two stops to 40th Street. Taxi
service is also available from 30th Street
Station to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
Airport Express Train
The SEPTA R1 Airport train leaves Philadelphia
International Airport every 30 minutes. Take the
R1 train to 30th Street Station. From there, take
the Market-Frankfort (Blue) elevated-subway line
west two stops to 40th Street. Taxi service is
also available from 30th Street Station to Penn
Presbyterian Medical Center.
LUCY - Loop Through University
City
The University City District's LUCY shuttle runs to Penn Tower Hotel, across
34th Street from the main entrance to Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The Gold Loop takes passengers
from 30th Street Station and 34th and Market streets to Penn Tower, then goes
to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
The Gold Loop shuttle runs every 10 minutes
during peak times (7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
to 6 p.m.) and every 30 minutes from 9 a.m. to
4 p.m. The ride to Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania takes 10 minutes from
30th Street Station and 5 minutes from 34th and
Market streets.
LUCY is $2.00 or a SEPTA token for the public
and is free with a SEPTA pass or ID from the
University of Pennsylvania, University of Pennsylvania
Health System, Drexel University, Children's
Hospital of Philadelphia and the VA Medical Center.
