Penn Radiation Oncology Now Offering Services
in the Ruth and Raymond Perelman Center for
Advanced Medicine
Penn's Department of Radiation Oncology,
a national leader in clinical care, research
and education, is now seeing patients in the
new Ruth and Raymond Perelman
for Advanced Medicine.
The department's
new location, on the Concourse
level, features:
- 47,500 square feet clinical space
- 5 linear accelerators
- 3 CT simulators
- 1 PET/CT simulator
- 1 MRI simulator
- 12 exam rooms
The Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine is
a start-of-the art outpatient facility located
across from the Hospital of the University of
Pennsylvania.
Roberts Proton Therapy Center
The Roberts
Proton Therapy Center, opening
in 2009, will be the world's most comprehensive
proton therapy center and one of only six such
centers in the country. The center will offer
the unique ability to fully integrate conventional
radiation treatment with proton radiation, which
more accurately targets tumors and leaves surrounding,
healthy tissue unaffected.
