About Penn Radiology

The faculty and staff of Penn Radiology are dedicated to adhering to the mission of the University of Pennsylvania Health System.

In 1897, the "Division of Roentgenology Services" opened at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in University City. Considered to be the first radiology department in the United States, the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania Health System - Penn Radiology - continues to build and expand on its rich history of leading the nation and the world in radiological advancements and research.

Commitment to the Community
Penn Radiology, an internationally renowned program, remains committed to providing comprehensive services to our surrounding communities. As part of an integrated health delivery system, Penn radiologists provide services at Center City locations including the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Hospital, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and the Tuttleman Center at Penn Medicine at Rittenhouse.

In addition, Penn radiologists practice at Penn Medicine at Radnor and numerous other suburban outpatient practices and facilities throughout Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties including The Chester County Hospital in West Chester.
